The State Board of Elections will hold a public meeting beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2019, in the Agency’s board room located on the Third Floor of the Dobbs Building, 430 N. Salisbury Street in Raleigh.

Gov. Roy Cooper appointed five members to the new State Board of Elections on Thursday.

By a unanimous vote of all members present, the newly appointed State Board of Elections on Thursday elected Bob Cordle of Charlotte as board chair and Dr. Stella Anderson of Boone as board secretary.

Superior Court Judge Paul Ridgeway ruled Tuesday that the State Board of Elections is in the best position to weigh the factual and legal issues related to the 9th Congressional District contest. The court denied Mark Harris’ request to order that he be certified the winner of that race.

Joshua Malcolm, chairman of the State Board of Elections & Ethics Enforcement, issued a letter this week directing agency staff to review and post materials associated with the investigation into election processes in certain counties within the 9th Congressional District.
