As of 8 a.m. Thursday, more than 2 million voters had cast ballots in the 2024 general election in North Carolina, according to preliminary State Board of Elections data.
Election officials will hold a press conference at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, outside of an early voting site in Asheville to discuss the start of early voting and ensure voters in Western North Carolina have the information they need to vote in the 2024 general election.
