Municipal Election Reporting Schedule

Municipal campaign finance reporting schedules are based on the election method used by the jurisdiction. Candidates should contact their county board of elections to learn which election method and reporting schedule applies for the city or town.

All municipal candidates must file an Organizational Report with the county board of elections within 10 days after the candidate files a notice of candidacy with the county board of elections, or within 10 days following the organization of the political committee, whichever occurs first. The organizational report must disclose all contributions, loans, and expenditures received or made prior to filing of the Organizational Report.

A candidate committee must continue filing disclosure reports after the election unless the committee qualifies and files for inactive status or closure of the committee. For more information on next steps after the election, please visit Candidate Committees.
