The State Board of Elections voted unanimously on Tuesday to finalize results of the July 26 elections, held in about 15 N.C. counties. The State Board also voted unanimously to approve proposed temporary rule amendments governing the conduct of precinct officials and election observers at polling places. These proposed rules will be submitted to the Rules Review Commission for consideration.

Under state law, election officials must release the number of provisional ballots cast in each county by noon two days after each election. The State Board surveyed the county boards of elections with July 26 elections to provide the count of provisional ballots cast during this election.

The random selection of voting groups to be audited in each county will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 27.
