The in-person early voting period opened today, July 7, for the July 26 municipal general elections, runoffs, and, in Graham and Wake counties, second primaries for sheriff.
The State Board of Elections on Thursday voted not to recognize the Green Party as an official political party in North Carolina, citing an ongoing investigation into evidence of fraud and other irregularities in the petition process used to seek ballot access for the party.
With the North Carolina House of Representatives today considering a bill to mandate that no voter be denied the ability to vote in the uniform required by their job, the State Board of Elections wishes to make clear to voters that they are already entitled to vote wearing the uniform of their job. The bill would clarify what is already the law.
